Overview of Instagram Profile Types

Instagram provides three categories of profiles: Personal, Business, and Creator

Instagram features three primary profile categories: Personal, Business, and Creator. By default, new Instagram accounts are created as Personal profiles. However, you can easily switch to either a Business or Creator profile at your convenience.

The profile type you select impacts the range of Instagram functionalities you can access via DotSimple.

To unlock all Instagram features in Dotsimple, a Business profile must be linked to a Facebook Page.

Business profiles are granted full access to features such as post engagement, analytics, and direct publishing. On the other hand, Personal and Creator profiles have more limited feature sets.

To gain full access to Instagram features in DotSimple, you must link your Business profile to a Facebook Page.

If you're unsure about your current profile type, visit your Instagram account and scroll to the bottom. The options there will indicate what kind of profile you have—Personal, Creator, or Business. If you don’t have a Business profile yet, check out how to Convert an Instagram Personal profile to a Business profile.

Features Accessible for Each Profile Type

For Business profiles, DotSimple allows direct publishing of posts, reels, and stories, and also enables access to analytics. The required setup involves linking the profile to a Facebook Page.

In contrast, Personal profiles can not publish posts and stories and do not have access to analytics.
