How to import data using CSV files

Overview

Another way to add members is to import a CSV file with highly targeted individuals for your outreach strategy.

Please ensure that the CSV file meets the following criteria:

  • The URL must start with HTTPS.

  • You can import up to 5000 contacts.

  • The file must be saved as a CSV MS-DOS file.

  • The column headers must remain as they are in the template, but the order of the rows is irrelevant.

  • Only classic LinkedIn URLs are accepted, Sales Navigator URLs are not allowed.

  • Duplicate entries across different campaigns are not allowed. Ensure that the imported members are not already part of other campaigns.

NOTE: It is not necessary to fill out all rows. The file can also be uploaded if it only contains the public LinkedIn URL.

How to import a CSV file:

  1. Go to the campaign where you want to import the file.

  2. Click on the button ADD CONTACTS.

  3. Select Import from .CSV.


  4. You will be prompted to select the file.

  5. Once the file is uploaded, click on Import.

The contacts are imported with the status "Not verified," which is completely normal. Once the campaign starts visiting the profiles, the status changes from "Not verified" to "Not connected."

Important to note:

Duplicate data can be uploaded via CSV files. However, if they are detected, DotSimple will not convert this contact from "Imported" to "Not connected." We recommend checking that your file does not contain duplicates or contacts that have already been uploaded in other campaigns.
