There are a number of common reasons why a credit card may be declined. Regardless of the reason, we recommend updating the account with the latest credit card information.
When charges are made to the cardholder's bank account, banks have automated systems to determine whether or not the charge will be accepted. Factors may include spending habits, account balance, and card information such as expiration date. Unfortunately, we do not receive information on why a charge was declined, so we are not able to share the specific reasons why a charge was declined.
Since signals change quite frequently, a previously successful card could be declined in the future. Even if billing information has been updated with the latest credit card information, a future charge could still be declined through a bank's fraud system methods.
If payment data is up to date and defaults are still detected, you should consider checking with your bank to see if the payment can be made from their end.
