Social media platforms want users to stay on their platform as long as possible.
But an external link in your post leads them away and the algorithm often punishes that (= less reach).
That's why it's often suggested to not put external links directly into your post text, but instead in the first comment.

How it works:
Create or edit post
Go to the post you want or click “+ Create Post”.
Pick your platform
For the comment function, choose Instagram, Facebook and/or LinkedIn (beta).
🔔 The comment function only works with these three platforms.
Add text & media
Write your post as usual and add pictures or videos.
Click “Add Comment”
On the right next to the text field, click the “+” icon next to the text field settings.
Write a comment
An extra text field will appear. There you can write something like:
🔗 Link to the event: https://dotsimple.io/event
Or whatever else you want to add.
Schedule or post right away
Now you can schedule the post as usual or post it immediately - the comment will be published automatically.
Done!
